For The Kids!
Children’s
Activities at Painting Purcellville Green
We’re expecting a busy day at the Children’s
Activities corner of the
4th Painting Purcellville Green
sustainability event!
The directors of the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy’s
popular youth Nature Camps will lead small groups on mini nature explorations
of downtown Purcellville.
The 5 R’s -- a group of Round Hill youth dedicated
to the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle, repair, and repeat – will help
children create whimsical and wearable arts and crafts made from recycled
materials, including crayons, bottle caps, bottle cap magnets, and soda tab
chains
A representative of Master Gardeners will offer a
Worm Bin Composting demonstration with handouts on how to create a household
composting center. Children will be invited to interact with the wriggling
worms and shred paper for them to munch.
A representative of the Newton Marasco Foundation will
be testing children’s knowledge of the environment in a hilarious
Jeopardy-style game called Eco-Logic. They will also hold an environmental book
raffle.
The Round Hill Arts Center will be back this year
with its popular face painter and
other activities for children.
And the challenging Recycle Toss game will be back,
too, with prizes for good aim!
PNC Bank
Most People Don't Think of Banking as "Green," but read on
Among America's top financial institutions, no company has done more to spur the charge, or energize the green cause than PNC. We have taken the lead when it comes to environmentally and employee friendly construction.
- PNC has more newly constructed "green" buildings certified by the U.S. Green Building Council than any company on Earth.
- PNC is the first U.S. bank to apply green building standards to all newly constructed or renovated retail branch offices.
